Everything rises and falls on attitude. However, attitudes can only be pointed out to you; they cannot be taught. They must be lived. Living is a conscious and deliberate thing. To live, you must eat consciously, sleep consciously, work consciously (have you ever been truly idle? How was it like?), groom consciously (brush your teeth, bathe, cut your hair…and all those stuff.) As a baby, people help you to do these things, because you must of necessity learn how to live a normal life. But when you become conscious, it is up to you.
Let me point out to you some of the attitudes that you must cultivate to remain vibrant and significant on your job.

- Love. If you don’t love your work, your boss, your colleagues, your customers, and of course, yourself, you can never be excited about what you do. Love is an action word. You can contact me to learn how to integrate its practicality to your work and other areas of your life.
- Connect your job with your future. Where you are going should of necessity be more important than where you now are, or what you may now be going through. If you don’t have a picture of a better future than your present job, you may be doomed for a lifetime of frustration.
- Decide to be positive. There will always be negative things and people around you. Remember, they are around you. The most important things in life are not necessarily around us, they are within us.
- Choose your companions wisely. Cliques are everywhere, even in temples. But you must be careful about the people in your inner circle at work. Their collective attitudes will eventually define yours.
- Be a go-to player. Develop yourself so much on your job to the point that your boss will not engage in any meaningful task without seeking your contribution. It will surely take time. But if you mean it, and are determined, like we say, it’s only a matter of time.
I’d leave you with just these points. We can discuss more on how to expatiate on these, and incorporate them into your organizational culture. But I’d love to quickly add; it’s not what you know but what you do with what you know that counts –and that’s to be conscious.
